20 minutes prior to the opening tip with feature interviews with the head coach, a detailed scouting report of the visiting team, the starting line-ups and much more.
Rick Cooper begins his 5th season as the play-by-play announcer for Ohio Christian University. Cooper has 21 years of play-by-play experience, including 3 seasons on the Marshall University Football Radio Network, which was made up of 35 radio stations across 3 states. He has broadcasted 26 NCAA and NCCAA National Tournaments and 17 NCAA and NCCAA National Championship Games. Cooper won 2 national championships as a basketball player at Kentucky Christian University in 1995 and 1996. He also won the 1995 ESPN Dick Vitale Sound-a-like Video Contest, which won him a free trip to the 1995 Final Four in Seattle. His Dick Vitale impersonations have aired on ESPN’s SportsCenter along with many local and national shows all over the country. Back in 2006, Cooper won $18,424 in prizes as the Showcase Showdown winner on “The Price Is Right”. Cooper uses all of his experiences in sports as a platform to reach people for Christ. He has spoken to over 100,000 students and families at events all over the country. Rick and his wife Lynn live in Groveport with their 3 boys: Ricky (11), Price (9), and Ty (4).
